Qualified. Insured. Evidence-led.
I take the responsibility of coaching seriously.
Forever Young Coaching combines formal, externally awarded qualifications with evidence-based practice, professional insurance and a clear understanding of where coaching ends and referral to other professionals begins.
Active IQ Level 4 Certificate in Nutrition Coaching, qualification accreditation number 603/4330/8.
Units covered:
Nutrition coaching for special populations
Nutrition coaching for sports performance
Evidence-based principles of nutrition
Applying evidence-based practice to nutrition coaching
Conducting research and consultations for nutrition coaching
My formal nutrition-coaching education was completed through BTN Academy/HFE after many years of following the work and teaching of Ben Coomber and Tom Bainbridge.
Their emphasis on evidence-based practice, behaviour change and coaching the person rather than prescribing a rigid diet strongly shaped the approach I now use at Forever Young Coaching.

Evidence Before Ideology
Qualifications matter, but they aren't the end of learning.
Nutrition and training are constantly developing fields, so my approach is to work from the best available evidence, stay within my professional scope and refer out when somebody needs support that belongs with a doctor, dietitian, physiotherapist or another appropriately qualified professional.
Good coaching isn't about pretending to know everything.
It's about knowing what you know, knowing what you don't, and helping somebody make sensible decisions with the information available.
